Long Grove is found 35 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois. Off the beaten path, it's nonetheless a vital shopping district with historic buildings dating to the early 1800s. The summer season brings thousands of visitors for well-established festivals, but the stores, art galleries and restaurants are open all year.

Here in Long Grove, Ms. Marty Reilly, owner of The Dog House of L.G., Ltd., and family members operate their business. A former employee, Reilly worked at the Dog House for 18 years prior to purchasing it in 2000. The store has been at this same location, near the crossroads of Old McHenry Road and Robert Parker Coffin Road, for more than 50 years. Generations of dog and cat owners have come to rely on the Dog House of L.G. for weekly treats, seasonal apparel, toys, collars and leashes, and the many other fine products they find there. The staff have watched many a puppy grow up, and one section of wall is dedicated to the pet photos of "canine celebrities" that customers send or bring in.

In these times, every store seems to carry the same products at the same prices. The Dog House of L.G. is a throwback to boutique-style shopping where the owner's individual attention to quality and appeal drives the merchandising decision. As a result, you'll find a wide variety of pet accessories, treats, gifts and more—many unique or hard to find—at a level of quality that won't leave you disappointed.

The Dog House of L.G. is open 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday most of the year.

Winter Hours: Closed on Mondays January through March, open 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
